Rotom is one of the most interesting Pokémon around. While usually an Electric and Ghost type, this quirky Pokémon has appliance-based forms with different types too. Regular Rotom finally joins Pokémon GO during the GO Tour: Sinnoh event.
So how do you get the regular Rotom form and its shiny variant in this mobile game? Let’s break it down.
Snagging a Regular Rotom
During GO Tour: Sinnoh, you can unlock the “Ghost in the Machine” Special Research by entering the code “0HY0UF0UNDM3.” The only task here is catching 30 Sinnoh region Pokémon. Finish it to get Rotom rewards – 10 Candy, some Stardust and XP, plus a Rotom encounter.
As announced officially, this Rotom can be shiny! With only one chance at catching it, the odds are around 1 in 64. So while a few lucky Trainers may spot that ultra rare gold sheen, most won’t. Still, it’s an exciting opportunity.
Getting Rotom’s Wacky Forms
Rotom’s appliance forms have appeared sporadically in Pokémon GO:
- Wash Rotom – Via GO Fest 2020 Snapshots or Anniversary Research.
- Frost Rotom – Exclusive to GO Fest 2023 in certain cities.
- Mow Rotom – Limited to GO Fest 2022 in selected locations.
Heat and Fan Rotom haven’t shown up yet. If you missed out on any form, you’ll need to trade for now. Who knows when more chances will come?
